My day was pretty much just wrecked.
I found out this morning before I was heading to work that Mike Pandel aka Triforce Mike, http://pandel.tumblr.com/ , passed away yesterday. He was hit by a car while riding his bicycle on Sunday night and was taken off of life support yesterday morning. His last post on Tumblr was one that eerily foreshadows this tragic event. I wasn’t super close with Mike, but he worked at the local comic shop I frequent, appropriately enough called A Comic Shop, and every time I went in he was awesome towards me. The two of us had numerous discussions pertaining to Buffy and Firefly and just comics in general. He was the one who turned me onto Joss Whedon’s run of the Astonishing X-Men. When I first met him, it was Halloween of 2010 at A Comic Shop for a premiere party of The Walking Dead and he was dressed as Finn from Adventure Time. Despite not knowing him on a super personal level, the interaction that I did have with him left a lasting impression on me. He was a genuinely great guy and one of the most charismatic people that I have met. He will be missed. R.I.P. Triforce Mike.
